SPAA holds “2023 UESTC Admission-Master Program of Public Management”

On November 18, SPAA held an online “2023 UESTC Admission - Master Program of Public Management” which aims to further strengthen the enrollment promotion of prospective international students and help international applicants better understand the international student program of SPAA.

Professor Zhao Shurong, Director of the International student program of SPAA and Director of the Center for West Africa studies, welcomed the prospective international students students who participated in the event. She first introduced the SPAA motto of "Seeking equity for morality, seeking integrity for righteousness", and she also gave a comprehensive introduction about the school from the aspects of its history, disciplines, faculty, characteristic research center, and internationalization.

Associate Professor Jia Kai, Director of the Department of Administrative management, introduced their research team, featured research fields, and research achievements. Taking the course "Social Science Research Methods" as an example, he explained the main contents and characteristics of the research methods course.  Dr. Kuang Yalin, on behalf of the Center for West African Studies of UESTC, introduced the establishment background, mission, international research team, research achievements, and academic influence of the Center for West African studies, as well as the scholarship support plan of the West African Research Center for international students. Ms Zhang Mengmeng, Teaching secretary for international students, made a brief introduction of the English-instructed Master's program for international students in Public Administration.

Afterward, Akakpo Abigail (Ghana), a representative of current international students, shared her experience of online learning and the support she received from the school. Kalandarov Sanjarbek (Uzbekistan) showed his life on UESTC campus and in Chengdu. Rueda Duque Gloria (Ecuador) shared how she overcame jet lag and kept her enthusiasm for learning, and Lygin Ivan (Russia) expressed his joy of being able to focus on writing his thesis after returning to campus. They shared and demonstrated their study and life on Campus, in Chengdu, or online from different perspectives.

Finally, in the Q&A session, Professor Zhao Shurong, Ms Zhang Mengmeng, and current students had an active and effective interaction with the international student applicants, answered questions about the supervisor's acceptance letter, curriculum arrangement, and the application process. SPAA is well prepared to facilitate prospective international students to apply for the international student programs of the School of Public Affairs and Administration.
