2012 ICPA seeks to provide a forum for distinguished speakers from academia, government and industry to discuss problems and new ideas, share experiences of success and failure in public administration, explore the changes that public administration poses for all aspects of governance, and promote international co-operation in the field of public administration.
More than 200 academic experts, experienced public administrators, and private sector management attended this conference, who were from P.R. China, United States, India, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Indonesia, Uganda, South Africa, Turkey, West Bengal, Malaysia, Romania, Lebanon, Brunei, Liberia, Singapore, Thailand, Japan and Zimbabwe, Fiji, South Korea.

The theme of 2012 International Conference on Public Administration (ICPA 8th) is New Frontiers in Public Administration: Practice and Theory. Focus areas include roles of governments and markets, human resources leadership and management, public service and security system, ethics and integrity, budgetary and fiscal transactions, information technology in public administration, emergencies and catastrophic events, networking and governance in urban and rural regions, collaborating public organizations, international and global challenges, civil service reform and new public management. The papers collected in Proceedings of 2012 International Conference on Public Administration represent a vast storehouse of new information and knowledge that should be useful to public officials on every continent, East-West and North-South, which offer insight, information, and knowledge on a variety of subjects that practicing public administrators and scholars should find useful.

On October 27, 2012 ICPA was successfully concluded. The submissions of 2012 International Conference on Public Administration (8th) have amounted to 723 pieces from both China and abroad. ) are 396 pieces are collected in the Proceedings of 2012 ICPA. The written proceedings of the 2012 ICPA, skillfully compiled by Editor-in-Chief Zhu Xiao-ning and Executive Editor-in-Chief Zhao Shu-rong, have been published by UESTC Press. Proceedings of the 2012 ICPA will be sent to be indexed by ISI Web of Knowledge under ISI Proceedings in USA.
As an important annual international academic conference, International Conference on Public Administration, initiated by University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, American Society for Public Administration, and Chinese Public Administration Society, is gradually developed into a worldwide academic activities with largest scale, highest level and influence in the international field of public administration after consecutive 8 years holding.
