Philip Goddard, Head of Academic Partnerships of UEL visited SPSPA of UESTC

On October 18^th, Mr. Philip Goddard, Head of Academic Partnerships of University of East London visited SPSPA of UESTC to discuss about thedouble master degree program and “1 + 3” undergraduate programbetween UESTC and UEL.

Tang Zhiwei, Dean of School of Political Science and Public Administration(SPSPA ) warmlywelcomed Philip Goddard and expressed the will to expand further cooperation with the University of East London on the basis of the short-term exchange program in summer. Mr. Zhou Jun, the Chairman of School Council,presented him a souvenir.

Subsequently, Prof. Zhao Shurong conducted a detailed introduction onthe history, faculty,courses,academic research,and featured internationalization of SPSPA. Mr. Philip said that he was honored to visit SPSPA. through the previous introduction from Prof. Zhao Shurong,andhe developed a deeper understand of the overall situation. Moreover, he appreciated the warmestwelcome and believedthat two universities could corporate in depth on programs of both undergraduates and postgraduates, following bythe reach of an consensuson several aspects for the programs such aslanguage requirements, application deadline, entrance examinationandtraining and etc. Regarding the double master degree program, an in-depth discussion was made about the cooperation details on application process, credit conversion and training mode, which laid a solid foundation for signing an agreement.

Philip Goddard visited the E-Governance Lab,Public Policy and Lab Data Visualization based E-Governance Labafter the meeting.
The cooperation ondouble master degree program and “1 + 3” undergraduate programbetween UESTC and UELaim to expandtheinternational cooperation, provide moreopportunities forstudentsstudyaboardand enrich theirinternationalvisions.
